Many of you will remember this shot of the new Delta livery > [link]

That shot went into airliners.net immediately that afternoon, and was added to the database. That is now my second or third highest viewed photo. :w00t:

The next day, I got contacted by a gentleman from Vienna Internation Airport, asking if they could use the photo. He said they wanted to "reprint" the photo, and use that reprint at a banquet dinner for the inaugural flight of Delta Air Lines to Vienna, Austria. I told him that was fine with me. He told me that they had contacted the other photographers, and he was not positive that my photo would get used. But he would let me know.

A week or two went by, and he contacted me again, wanting my mailing address. I got a little excited, thinking maybe they were sending my a big-print of my photo. :excited:

But, it was something much smaller.....but sooo much better! =D

He talked to the Austrian Post Office, and they printed my picture 200 times....as postage stamps! And they are genuine, and can be used as real postage! :w00t: He sent me a big envelope, with one of these stamps on the outside as the postage, and a postcard on the inside (the same ones that we handed out to Delta executives at the dinner :XD:), which has another one of these stamps on it, and has been marked "May 21st, 2007", the date of the first flight to Austria. Absolutely awesome! :w00t:!

So, a huge, huge "thank you" to Robert at Vienna International Airport! It was quite a surprise! :)

I'll take some pics of the postcard and envelope tomorrow, and post them soon after.
EDIT: Ok, I posted them tonight anyway :XD:. Here they are: 1. [link] 2. [link]

A.net has put me in touch with some cool people. Time to do some travelin'! :XD:
